A few years back Disney Special Events Australia devised a new live show which was used to raise the profile of the Fab Five (Mickey Mouse & Co). It was called Adventures in Rocket Park and introduced a new vocal group called JAAM. My former co-composer and I were asked to write the songs for the show, which would also have a CD/DVD. It was a fantastic process coming up with song ideas in conjunction with the producer, the amazing John Berrick and a Broadway script writer, then heading off to a quiet space to write the music and lyrics. All the music was recorded and produced in house.
The show was a hit with kids on a national Australian tour and we took it to Hong Kong to show the then head of Disney, Michael Eisner and he loved it. But as happens in the world of entertainment, due to some issues out of the productions control, it couldn’t continue.
This song is called “Sweet Sunshine” and I apologise for the vision quality.
