This is the 60second version of the 2015 campaign for Surf Life Saving Australia produced by the talented Chris Gerrans of CGTV. I composed, recorded and produced the music track here at SoundEngine. The music is based on an orchestral string section and the brief was to create something emotional to fit in with the images that had already been shot and cut. With something already cut, the trick is to match the pace of the edit and hit certain points which makes the music and picture sync together.
Great fun to compose this one and quite fast. One idea, a demo and ticked off. Next came the audio post. A VO record and as there was no sync sound, I sourced every sound and laid them up to the pictures.
The ‘hand up’ idea is great and I hope the campaign raises a bundle for all the wonderful volunteers.
